A perfect culmination of Education and Inspiration, the Horseman Symposium brings together a variety of horse trainers from many different disciplines that share a common belief in using first principles of Horsemanship. This event will cover every aspect of horsemanship as it takes a deep dive into horse psychology, behavior, and performance.

Ryan Rose

Ryan Rose began his career as a professional horse trainer and clinician in 2005. Ryan soon realized that in order to have success as a horse trainer and clinician, he needed to become a horseman. His skills in horse development and his teaching set him apart. Ryan has created a unique horsemanship program that simplifies and streamlines the process of developing a partnership while also giving your horse the foundation they need. He also enjoys competing and training horses in ranch versatility.

Emily Rose

Dr. Emily Rose holds a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Wisconsin -
Madison and is a Certified Equine Rehabilitation Practitioner from the University of Tennessee -
Knoxville. Dr. Rose has been a Physical Therapist for over ten years and has practiced in many human settings including inpatient, subacute and outpatient care providing her with experience
throughout the phases of tissue healing and rehabilitation through disease processes. Dr. Rose
is faculty for the University of Tennessee Certified Equine Rehabilitation Practitioner program and travels internationally teaching clinics and workshops. Dr. Rose is also an active rider herself and competes in Dressage. She has achieved her USDF Bronze Medal rider achievement award.

Doug Jordan

Horseman, trainer, and NCHA Hall of Fame inductee in 2000, Doug Jordan has studied and worked alongside the best horseman including Ray Hunt, Tom and Bill Dorrance, and Shorty Freeman. He collaborates with prominent horseman such as Buck Brannaman, Martin Black, and has participated in the 2019 Legacy of Legends. Doug‘s Equine Performance Partnership clinics are held across the United States and abroad. Events and clinics are open to riders and horses of all levels, novice to advanced.

Barend Heilbron

An accomplished rider, instructor and trainer, Barend graduated from the Dutch Equestrian
Center NHC, where he achieved the highest level, after which, in 1986, he moved to the U.S. from Holland. He has competed successfully at all levels including FEI and has trained horses up to Grand Prix. As an instructor, Barend is kind and thoughtful, training his students using classical techniques. He and his wife, Anne-Marie, run Island Farm, a dressage facility in Ocala, FL.

Jake Biernbaum

Jake Biernbaum is a Foundation Training Specialist who starts and develops horses for the public, as well as teaches people to be able to train themselves and their horses to be successful partners and to better achieve their goals and dreams. Jake is the owner of Pear Tree Ranch based in Citra, Florida. Jake offers training, lessons, and clinics around the country that cover a wide range of topics from liberty, colt starting, western dressage and more. Jake also offers instructional videos on his YouTube page, Pear Tree Ranch.

Steve Andrews

Steve a.k.a. “the Natural Horseman” is a trainer based in Williamston, MI. He aims to find and maximize your potential to become a natural horseman. Steve bases his horsemanship program
on development of depth and trust, respect and understanding between horse and rider. He offers instructional videos on his YouTube channel, The Natural Horseman, and offers training,
lessons, and clinics.

Caira Feddema

Caira Feddema has spent several years studying with Ryan. She’s also an experienced cowgirl having spent time ranching in Texas and Oklahoma. Caira uses the knowledge and experience gained from working with Ryan and other trainers to develop solid well-rounded horses.
